Experience
My work combines artificial intelligence research, engineering, and leadership across startups, academia, and technical student organisations.
Current Experience
XISTRA
2025 – Present
XISTRA is a deep-tech AI startup researching and developing software and hardware technology that enables robotic systems—such as drones and autonomous vehicles—to operate reliably in the real world. Our core mission is to push beyond the limitations of current advanced models like LLMs, which are trained rigidly by imitating existing data and struggle to truly understand their environment, execute continuous missions, or learn from experience.
We are currently in the early stage, working intensively to demonstrate how we can contribute to the broader pursuit of AI that genuinely understands.

ATRG
November 2024 – Present
ATRG (Aerospace Technology Research Group) is a research group at the University of Vigo with over 17 years of experience and high-impact space missions, including XatCobeo—Spain's first nanosatellite—HUMESAT-D, and Lume-1.
My contribution focuses on artificial intelligence, developing and researching AI model applications for drones: advanced data analysis algorithms, LLM integration for sensor data interpretation, and image recognition models, within projects spanning both the aeronautical and space domains.

DARTS
February 2026 – Present
DARTS is an open research initiative working toward AI that genuinely understands its environment, builds its own model of the world, and generates new knowledge rather than recombining existing patterns. We focus on three areas where we believe the next leap forward will happen: world models, causal & continual learning, and multi-agent systems.
All of our work is developed in the open—DARTS serves as a unified portal bringing together advances, developments, and research across these lines, fully open-source and public.

Previous Experience
Aguia Advanced Analytics
June 2023 – August 2023
Full-time trainee engineer at Aguia Analítica Avanzada, a Galician data analysis startup that applies state-of-the-art AI algorithms to drone imagery to assess road surface conditions.
During this time, I worked on the modelling and implementation of computer vision neural networks, as well as data processing and process automation, gaining first-hand experience in the development of an early-stage R&D project.

UVigo Aerotech
September 2021 – August 2024
UVigo Aerotech is a student team at the University of Vigo—the only one of its kind in Galicia—dedicated to developing aerospace technologies for research and competition. During my time with the team, I led participation in 5 fixed-wing drone competitions, developing 5 different aircraft including MOBULA-0, Spain's first competition flying wing.
I also founded the Research & Development group, focused on pioneering technologies such as experimental AI models, morphing wing materials, and simulation software to support the rest of the team. I currently remain involved as an advisor.

MAD Formula Team
September 2024 – December 2025
Formula Student team at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where I contributed to the Modelling & Performance department. I worked on developing a new on-track vehicle simulator enabling its use for early-stage decision-making and complex optimisations throughout each season's car development.
Additionally, I contributed to optimising the development of the car's aeromap, reducing the time required and improving fidelity through statistical and modelling techniques.

AEAE
March 2021 – March 2024
Working with the Board, I helped shape the vision for AEAE, Spain's leading association for aeronautics and space engineering students. I co-organised four national congresses, managing corporate relations and coordinating nationwide workshops for Aero Design, Formula Student, and Rocketry teams.
A highlight was the XXVII Congress in Ourense (March 2023), the first held at my home school, which achieved record-breaking attendance.

School of Aeronautical Engineering
October 2021 – June 2024
Elected as the highest representative of the 250+ students at the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering. I coordinated and promoted a new series of events aimed at connecting the school with industry through conferences, courses, and professional talks.
One standout initiative was the I EEAE Alumni Forum, which brought together over 200 attendees for a series of talks by former students, strengthening the link between alumni and current generations.
